d)      Monwell Hankinson Signs & Services

Based in Letchworth Road in Ebbw Vale, Monwell Hankinson Signs & Services is a facility that provides full time permanent employment to personnel with disabilities.  The operation is part funded by Jobcentre Plus under contract to deliver its Workstep Programme and partly by the Local Authority.

e)       Regeneration Projects

This Section is responsible for the development and implementation of a range of projects and for submitting bids for grant aid from a variety of sources including: - Welsh Development Agency (WDA), Countryside Council for Wales, Lottery Grants and Welsh Assembly Government.

• Implementation of projects relating to the Steelworks Recovery Package from the Welsh Assembly Government.
• Development and implementation of town centre enhancement schemes in Abertillery, Brynmawr, Ebbw Vale and Tredegar.
• Implementation of Commercial, Industrial and Key Building grant programmes.
• Development of the intermediate labour market for the maintenance and improvement of Blaenau Gwent’s Green Network.
