b) Business Services
The main aim of this Section is to increase the successful growth of companies and inward investors in Blaenau Gwent and to successfully deliver the schemes, projects and programmes currently provided.
- Implementation of the Economic Development Grant Programme and Business and Service Sector Support Scheme.
- Effectively manage the Council’s portfolio of Business Units.
- Deal with business inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner.
c) Training Centre
The Training Centre was set up to provide vocational and work skills for the unemployed. This provision has expanded over the years and the Centre now works with a network of companies, colleges, Caerphilly and Merthyr CBC and other Training Providers, to offer a range of training and management services.
- To achieve the targets and outcomes specified in contracts with Education and Learning Wales (ELWa) and Jobcentre Plus including: -
- To achieve Lead Provider Status for mainstream programmes with ELWa.
- To further develop a network of provision that offers vocational pathways for Learners.
- Maximise New Deal contracts with Jobcentre Plus.
- Work placements for the Council
