Co-ordination of major regeneration projects including: -
- Re-development of the former Dunlop Semtex site, Brynmawr.
- Re-development of the former Tin Plate Works site, Ebbw Vale.
- Rail link between Ebbw Vale and
- Town Centre developments.
- The duelling of the Heads of the Valley trunk road.
- Cwm by-pass road.
- Llanhilleth regeneration programme to 2006. In September 2004, the new School opened as part of this project.
- Biodiversity Projects including - Local Nature Reserves, sites of importance for Nature Conservation.
- Management of the Green Network and implementation of the Intermediate Labour Market Initiative (ILM).
- Securing of Objective One funding for the Jobmatch programme.
- Implementation of the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000.
- The new build i.e. Valleys Information and Technology Education Centre (VITEC).
- The transfer of Monwel Hankinson Signs & Services business to the Regeneration portfolio provides a programme of support to people with disability into or back into the world of work.
- Attraction of substantial amounts of grant aid from the European Objective One Programme.
