The role of the I.T. Division is primarily as an aid to the management of the Authority in the delivery of all services. It is linked to the Authority’s Vision Statement in its own mission statement "The use of ICT aligned to business practice to, optimise the efficiency and effectiveness of the Authority in its internal and external operations".
In providing an effective ICT infrastructure that includes the Lifelong Learning Broadband we hope to enhance the quality of life and improve the skills of the people of Blaenau Gwent by delivering Broadband Internet opportunities for learning and recreation.
The ICT service will underpin the effective communications necessary between the community and our services via the Communications Centre. ICT systems underpin the delivery of all services provided by the council.
The Mission Statement for the Section is:
"To provide the Council, its departments and the general public with good quality I.T. services, delivered in a professional manner at a reasonable cost thereby aiding each service to deliver its own strategic aims".
