The primary aims of the Accountancy Division can be stated as follows:
To support the Director of Resources (the Chief Financial Officer) in the administration of the Authority’s financial affairs by providing comprehensive accountancy services to stakeholders and fulfilling statutory reporting requirements.
To optimise investment performance within parameters that safeguard the Authority’s capital through the limitation of exposure to risk.
The Mission Statement for the Section is:
"To support and contribute towards the achievement of the Authority’s corporate aims by providing the Council, its service departments and the general public with good quality financial services delivered in a professional manner at a reasonable cost".
The Division is increasingly adopting a ‘customer focussed approach’ in order to complement the more traditional and largely statutory core service delivery.
