Our vision for Blaenau Gwent might seem like a tall order but we believe that it’s achievable if we all work together. We have put an extensive improvement plan in place following the Whole Authority Assessment (WAA)- the Welsh equivalent of the English CPA. We are building the foundations for improvement, delivering the priorities identified in our improvement plan and linking this with our service plans.
We have a new clarity of purpose and sharpened priorities with an overall focus on performance management, systems, processes and people. We are making sure that Members are better informed to strengthen their role in the Council and we have been listening to local people, improving communications and engaging more as we set our priorities.
