An opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified individual with detailed knowledge of environmental health related legislation to join Blaenau Gwent’s Environmental Health Team.
You will be responsible to the Team Leader for inspecting and enforcing food safety, and smoking ban legislation in a wide range of businesses, ensuring that the risks arising from food preparation, storage or manufacture and work activity are properly controlled. You will also be responsible for the investigation of cases of communicable disease and food complaints.
You will possess a BSc in Environmental Health or equivalent qualification recognised by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. You will also possess, or be working towards, a Certificate of Registration issued by the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board.
The post carries an Essential Car User Allowance and therefore you should possess a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work purposes.
